What Are the PNP,RTR,RTF in the Remote Control Hobby?

Introduction of Radio Control Model Product Format

To meet your demands, RC models come in a range of product formats.

The three-letter acronym for "Product Format" is a simple identification that conveys two main messages:

1) How much assembly is necessary?

2) what the model comes with.

Plug N Play

PNP: Also known as Plug N' Play, these goods are nearly ready to use and usually take less than one to two hours to construct. In PNP models, the servos, motor, and ESC are all factory-installed. Many pilots prefer PNP variants because they provide them the freedom to install any brand of receiver in their aircraft.

Requires: transmitter, receiver, battery, and charger.

Ready to Fly

RTF: "Ready to Fly" is what RTF stands for. Everything you need to fly an RTF aircraft is included in the package. Included and pre-installed from the factory are a transmitter, battery, charger, receiver, and all other necessary components. Your battery only needs to be charged before you can attach the wings and stabilizers and take off. RTF models can take anywhere from 30 to 2 hours to assemble, even if everything is pre-installed and included.

Requires: Nothing.

Ready to Run

RTR: "Ready to Run" refers to cars and boats that are essentially ready to use or operate right out of the box. Although specific models might need some minor assembly, the box will contain all necessary parts, such as the radio, receiver, battery, charger, and other accessories.

Requires: Nothing.
