Tamiya Model RC Car Collection - Radio Control Kits
For more than 45 years, Tamiya has sold radio control (RC) cars. They've spent a lot of time introducing people to the hobby of radio control, and they have some of the best entry-level kits available.
This unique collector's item features a number of Tamiya RC cars, both new and vintage, that were gathered by one of our V8engineforsale customer support agents. This is his collection of more than twenty Tamiya radio control cars, and his name is James.
Tamiya Super Avante TD4
The Super Avante TD4, a relatively new model, is up first. You must assemble a four-wheel drive kit that is 10th scale. It is shaft-driven, a mid-motor buggy based on the TD4 chassis, and it still goes by the tagline "nuts are neat." Currently, this is a stunningly beautiful updated version of the original Avanti!

When the vehicle was re-released in 2014, Tamiya gave it the Fighting Buggy name. Interestingly, it has a single rear shock and is a 1/10 2WD kit. The goal of Tamiya RC was to make the Ford Escort appear to be the 1975–1979 RAC rally champion. Tamiya Lunch Box
James initially began collecting these vehicles primarily because of this kit. When I was a child, and saw a lunch box at a hobby store. We've come to this point because he knew he had to have it eventually. This is a re-release of the Lunch Box, a 1/12 scale, two-wheel-drive monster truck that was first introduced in 1987. The Lunch Box has the recognizable hard plastic boxy van body with grille, side guards, bumpers, and other metal-plated accents. Now that the body is made of hard plastic, painting it yourself is simpler. Additionally, the body appears more scale-real because it is attached to the chassis sides.

It has white plastics, white wheels, and a red-painted body. The Gold model, which is arguably the most sought-after Lunch Box, comes last. Its body is gold chrome, and its wheels match.
Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin
We are sure that many of you are familiar with this truck—it's the Midnight Pumpkin. It is a two-wheel drive, 12th-scale vehicle that was first introduced in 1987. For a different look, the Pumpkin uses an American flatbed truck from the 1950s instead of the Lunchbox's chassis. The strong plastic body is adorned with chrome components and light buckets. Interestingly, the body posts are less noticeable because they protrude through the front tyre wells, giving the vehicle a somewhat tidy appearance.

Tamiya Bullhead
The Bullhead, a large kid, comes next. This four-wheel drive kit is 1/10 size. The body, which is made of hard plastic and features scale details and metal-plated pieces throughout the kit, was inspired by American tractor trucks. A motor is mounted on axles in front and back with solid axles, and the chassis is a bathtub frame with a four-link independent suspension. With the Tamiya Bullhead, four-wheel steering was an option. This truck has been discontinued, though.

Tamiya Ferrari F189 Late Version
Not to be overlooked is the Ferrari F189 late model. This 1/10 scale model, which debuted in 1989, was the first Formula One vehicle to feature Tamiya's F101 chassis with a ball differential. Compared to the F1 and F2 Tamiya RC frame designs, it was a significant advance. The fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) semi-double deck frame features a single coil over an oil-filled damper, and a T-style designed motor mount.
