A Letter From The Founder of Toyan Engine
I am Toyan Engine's founder, and my name is Ricky. A bone enthusiast who is passionate about model motors, internal-combustion model engines have grown increasingly nostalgic since the advent of brushless power-swept RC goods. I began learning about the model engine around 2013. I ultimately decided to create a new engine employing simulation and the four-stroke working mode after weighing the benefits and drawbacks of the conventional model engine. I've never given up and have conquered every obstacle over the last five years; I do my best to maintain this feeling. Even if Toyan's brand and product category cannot be compared to top-tier European and Japanese manufacturers, we have abandoned our distinctive product line. Toyan has been launching many engine types while keeping to the product level standard. We design and manufacture with a responsible mindset, whether it's the engine body's performance and appearance, accessories, packaging, or instructions. To give consumers their favourite items, we will continue to demand independent research and development manufacturing, meet or beyond everyone's expectations, and continuously enhance product performance throughout the next five years. Along the way, I also encountered several inquiries and hostile criticism from domestic players. To prevent needless misunderstandings in the future, I would like to provide the following information here.
No Cylinder pressure
At this point, Toyan bases the design and application of all of its products on 3.5cc displacement. This package of essential machine parts is also Toyan's most tremendous success in the last five years. After the new machine is purchased, it must be adequately run to reflect the normal cylinder pressure because the piston ring has an aperture and is elastically sealed due to the tiny volume of the cylinder. Because the comparison conditions cannot be similar, please refrain from comparing engines of different levels with four-stroke model engines. For instance, if you take a 3 ml or 10 ml syringe, both of which block the needle, it is clear that several thrust forces are needed to compress the air in the vast volume when you compress the piston. Oil leakage
Toyan decided to pursue autonomous innovation from the outset of product design. In order to simulate look and structure, it used a synchronous belt + overhead camshaft design instead of the design framework of OS, Saito, Enya, YS, and other tappet engines, sacrificing the tightness of the camshaft bearing sealing in the process. Despite the extremely high processing requirements for the bearing hole's accuracy, as the cylinder head's temperature rises, aluminium's expansion coefficient is more significant than steel's, creating a thermal expansion gap at the assembly position that causes the camshaft's grease to splash out. This is a thorough issue, not because our engineers and technicians are blind to it. When an oil leak issue is resolved, other related problems will surface. We're still looking for the best answer. It's not as simple as plugging it with oil. Here's how to lessen oil leaks. To significantly lower the chance of oil leaking at the bearing position, please use less camshaft grease when operating. We initially designed the bottom cover of the crankcase as an integrated closed design. Still, we later discovered that it was difficult to maintain and replace parts, so we switched to a removable bottom shell. In the subsequent modified goods, we placed O-rings in the bearing assembly position to lessen the possibility of oil leakage because this resulted in an expansion gap between the bearing position and the assembly position as well. Thus, contrary to what some people claim, inadequate machining accuracy and inadequate quality control are not the root cause of the oil leaking issue.
Electric starting brushless
The user experience can be significantly enhanced by electric starting. We also pay close attention to this topic. We ultimately decided on the more expensive brushless motors out of the available low-cost DC motors. The explanation is straightforward: the brush needs a larger motor to start, it is designed to be beautiful, and its lifespan is brief. Following numerous tests with the manufacturer, the current 2030 brushless motor is also tuned to its current performance. With a 7.4V 25C lithium battery and a 30A–40A brushless ESC, the machine can be started without pressure in its new state. As the cylinder pressure rises after the running-in is finished, the startup will be a little more complicated, but it won't significantly impact use—just a tiny delay. You can raise the startup voltage a bit for everyday use if the startup latency is genuinely intolerable.
The gap of the valve is not adjustable
Toyan users are more likely to be micro-engine aficionados than RC users. We prioritized easy maintenance and simple operation because not everyone is capable of starting a model engine. Whether or not they can be enabled is a barrier for users. An excessive number of settings will unavoidably result in parameter modification and other annoyances. Therefore, in order to increase the valve clearance's range of application, we established the piston stroke and compression ratio and used a shorter intake and more extended exhaust time scheme while designing the camshaft angle. The four-stroke model engine's inlet and exhaust clearance screws can be removed or adjusted to determine if it starts generally if you're an RC lover. The response is overwhelmingly good. It will not start or operate typically if the valve clearance is irregular. The first time I saw a model internal combustion engine, I tried innumerable techniques, but it didn't start until I broke it and purchased a second engine. Two-model engines were pricey back then. Price
We have been producing engines using CNC machining for the last five years. They are a number of stages ahead of the conventional model engine technology, regardless of the level of precision or oxidation treatment. Not everyone can afford the costs above US$700, therefore I also bought the CNC version of Ogawa's two-stroke aviation model engine. Comprehensive performance
The features and design components of various model engine types vary. The model engine cannot run at high speeds for extended periods without a load or with adequate heat dissipation. The products of different manufacturers, however, are not as brittle as the players think. I also have a number of engines available, and each duration has a unique experience. The TOYAN engine is under no pressure for 20–30 seconds of high-speed running. Given the significant weight, which is a physical phenomenon, the initial design goal was to assist the simulation and provide fans with a positive experience rather than follow the competition route. The exhaust, flywheel, and starting system are all standard, which inevitably results in a significant increase in the total weight. I believe it is pretty evident to all what additional elements other manufacturers provide.
Regarding the high-quality words from overseas, TOYAN is made with the same skill on the same production line as those from elsewhere.
